Who buys a product because of an ad anymore? I read plenty of reviews before I buy anything over $20, and I just don't buy things I don't have a need for. Good products sell themselves and ads can't 'create a need' for a product the way they used to with past generations. In fact many young people purposely avoid any product that advertises and marketers know this. Just go to any game submission and read how much love there is for Dragonage. Why help pay for advertising that I disliked seeing in the first place?
Hopefully the cops came and shot him in the face.

“There's a difference between 'news' as in headlines and 'news' as in proper journalism. If Radio 4's Today Programme went subscription-only, I'd pay for it in a heartbeat.

I used to operate a Nuclear Reactor (directly control), at the Hanford Nuclear Reservationto produce plutonium for the DOE.It was a graphite moderated type, as was the Chernobyl reactor. When Chernobyl went up, we went down. While there are all kinds of new reactor designs on paper, The first thing I noticed in the article was the mention of it's use of helium as a coolant. We are running out of helium, there is only one source of helium which used to be controlled by the Government; as the WWII production reactors used helium as an inert atmosphere within the reactor, not as a coolant. It wouldn't be wise to rely upon a limited supply of helium as a coolant for a reactor, in any long term investment.Google: helium shortage - first hit (Wired) is a good one.The Pebble bed reactor as mentioned at the beginning of this thread is the most likely design to be produced in the U.S. (China is already constructing them), and can use other gases as a coolant.FWIW: google earth:46°41'00.62" N, 119°30'12.00" W (all one line, and search)You need to zoom out of course, but that's the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, the first Grey site in the lower left is B-Reactor the first production reactor ever built. and now a historic site. I operated the third one up on the left, N-Reactor. These are old pictures as all but B reactor have been disassembled, the reactors themselves being entombed, or buried. As for sent fuel elements, they are still stored there. There was one plan of creating a religion, it's purpose - to pass on to future generations not to dig in the area for 10,000 years (Honest)..

My favorite was the Charlize Theron episode. Followed closely by this one and the Bradley Cooper episode.?

1 - Tucker Torpedo - Too much untested technology in a car. Current carmakers test new gadgets for years before they see the light of day, because they have to last a long time, and a single warranty repair can blow the profit margin on most cars.2 - QUBE - This actually looked pretty sweet. Must have cost a small fortune doing this with analog technology.3 - DAT - Sony *did* implement the DRM, it was called something like serial copy management system. It was a pain in the ass and made DAT decks cost a ton. 4 - HyperCard - This was pretty innovative, but not ahead of it's time. OpenDoc was ahead of it's time.5 - Phillips CD-I - The hardware completely sucked. It wasn't ahead of it's time, it was behind the curve if anything. LaserDiscs could do most of the things CD-I could do, but better.6 - Gopher - Also not ahead of it's time, it was a logical progression from the proto-WAIS projects of the late 80's.7 - Newton - Meh. They were cool at the time, but not as game-changing as the iPhone.8 - LiveJournal - Meh^2.9 - Danger HipTop - The what? A crappy camcorder bolted onto a phone is ahead of it's time?10 - Friendster - Yet another "social" site? These are all progressions from having a homepage, they just make it easier to link to other people and integrate content. The only thing groundbreaking about them is that they are popular.Get off my lawn!!
