It has to do with the rotation structure. The way the Army does it, whole units are deployed together for a year at a time. There is very little in the way of cool down between deployments. By the time they get reacquainted with their family and return to some semblance of normalcy, it's time to go back.The Air Force (at least back in '05) had a much different structure that was more expensive but far better on the people. To cut through the automated system (since I've found them useless as well, and I'm always rerouted anyway) here's a site that shows you how to run through prompts to put you in touch w/ a person right away - http://gethuman.com/ Can't help you with the rest though, but as a tech who has to call a lot of outside vendors, it's really helpful to be able to cut through the crap to get to a human right away..
That sounds like a good way to use your time.!

I'm a gamer and I've never felt the need to use Wine in Ubuntu...at least for games since it usually doesn't work very well. I guess there was a time, way back when I started using Ubuntu (6.06) that the nVidia drivers worked great in Linux so I was able to play a certain few games really well in Wine, but ever since Windows has outperformed it so I just game in Windows. I do often use Wine to run a few Windows only apps though, mainly uTorrent and Realterm (a serial terminal, useful for microcontroller programming) since there are no Linux versions. |
