| I had a similar experience working at an apple repair shop around 2004. Customer called up irate because the display on her 1991 Mac Classic had gone out, and was very upset when I told her we couldn't get parts for machines that old. The only Mac we had that old was broken, and we were using it for a doorstop. |

I still have a bunch of old Lobo's stashed away in a closet somewhere. I need to dig them out and re-read them.
This was back in early 2007. They may have changed their policy since then.Club Nintendo wasn't even out yet (in the USA), they had "My Nintendo" instead. But I did register the system online when I purchased it, and had my "My Nintendo" profile linked with my Wii which then linked my purchases together.

Running a small independent dance label I always thought iTunes was going to be great for music, you know the end of being ripped off by the majors, easy to sell your product, a fair split for the artists, no hidden extras. Instead. No... it's worse, Apple are a ***** nightmare to deal with, they won't budge on anything. God knows what the majors are paying to get content on the iTunes front page, the music has become second best to back-handers and money...again. Their new LP format, well ***** me, I ain't gonna pay an Apple designer $10,000 to do what I can effectively do in-house for £150 and a 'LP' template. They say they're opening up the format, but I'm still waiting to see. This digital revolution could have been so good for music, but instead it's being stepped on by another corporation... again. Apple... you've let me down. Rant over.

Personally I am a strong fiscal conservative but I am actually for a universal single payer or single payer-like system. While this may sound contrary, the money that a single payer could conceivably save in the long run is far greater than that of any other kind of reform and that is what I am for.With that said, you are 100% correct regarding government subsidies of agriculture products. A key thing that should be in the health care debate, yet I have yet to hear anyone even mention it, is a complete and total reform of the Farm Bill, possibly to the extent of retiring it entirely. It is absolutely ridiculous to be talking about keeping people healthy with one hand while feeding them food that is terrible for them with the other.In addition, education must be a part of any health care reform. What I mean by that is education to adults about the dangers and causes of obesity. I'm talking more than just "eat vegetables not cookies" but actually teach them about carbohydrates, proteins, and fats and what they all mean and that neither fat nor carbohydrates have to be four letter words. Education is also needed for children to improve physical education at schools starting from the youngest age and to teach them that good foods can be good for you as well.The saddest part of this is that all this could probably be paid for with money that has been wasted by both this and the last administrations on wars, bailouts, and stimulus packages. While I'm on that subject... for the love of god reform the banking system already! |
