That's not it at all, but I can at least see where you're coming from now.Actual explanation:"Oh sure, I acknowledge that we have the ability to walk," - we can physically take steps, a metaphor for the small step in the appearance of a new species (so-called 'micro-evolution')"it's just that I don't believe anyone can walk from one end of the country to the other," - a hyperbolic statement. Of course you could walk across the country, it would just take a long time and MANY steps. A metaphor for how it would take many small steps of micro-evolution in order to reach something we could refer to as 'macro-evolution' wherein we have a totally new genus (is that the word I want?) which can no longer breed with the original animal (actual evolution). This is of course possible, like walking across a continent, it would just a long time and many many individual steps.Personally, I think that was an excellent metaphor. Kudos.
A) Doesn't mean she didn't break the rules. B) CREW is not an elected official. Bachmann is. She is part of the body that helps make the laws for the country, so she should be expected to follow the rules.C) She obviously knew she was breaking the rules, or else she wouldn't have tried to be dubious and call it a press conference (despite the fact that it obviously was not). THus, she has shown a clear willingness to only follow and support rules that she finds convenient - not a quality we should support in our elected officials. If you or I held a rally without a permit, we'd be in trouble. Why shouldn't we apply that standard to her as well? It's not about conservative or liberal views. It's about following simple procedures to ensure safety and appropriately assign liability.

Antartican??
Stupid Headline. This is standard procedure, and is necessary to make absolutely sure the species doesn't spread. Piranhas are extremely adaptible and would destroy anything in their path. A state so dependent on its waterways would surely want to protect them. I agree with edstate, the problem is the exotic pet trade. Never release your pets into the wild, something as simple as releasing a pet frog into a pond becuase its gotten to big for you to care for could be devastating to the local enviorement. |

it's funny how the greenies are on this quest for the "greenest" power solutions, yet they constantly overlook nuclear power which sits directly in front of them, ready to go, emitting no global warming emissions.. yet they think that its going to blow up and/or radiate the world or something
