Seeing all of the Obama hate in here makes me wonder: If the story was that he indeed uses Twitter, would the response from those same people have been, "How does he have time to tweet? Actually, it went Friendster>MySpace>Facebook. And Facebook was popular way before status updates (that was just in response to Twitter). According to Julia Angwin, MySpace had the advantage of a) being customizable and b) anonymous, which is exactly what the internet loves. Then Facebook came around as a bastion of anti-anonymity, and rose to the top.
