And there are a lot of proposed ways to distill rocket fuel from lunar soil. All the heavy ***** we launch is already up there.We should focus on learning how to use the much cheaper (compared to launching from earth) lunar resources to actually produce things of value to humanity. Space based solar, zero g fabrication, tourism, and possibly raw minerals from asteroidsPlus, when we actually do decide to go to mars the cost will be 1/100th of what it would be now..
