| Company's state that they have to ship all of the labor jobs overseas in order to stay competitive, but in reality they are only doing it to make a higher profit margin. One would think that the computers that are being made and assembled for pennies on the dollar overseas should make them more affordable here in the US, but that isn't the case because company's see the possibility to raise their overall profit and decide to stick it to the consumer so they can line their pockets with even more cash.Company's couldn't give two ***** about customers these days, it's all about the greed.Anyone remember the last time that they could buy a product and _not_ have to keep the receipt for when the product breaks and they have to take it back to get fixed/replaced? Long gone are the days of quality production, I think quantity production is definately here to stay. |

With all of the bailout money given, they should have just given it to us directly, we would each have over 100k. That would help our economy in many ways, provided the requirement that you have a job to take advantage of it. I mean what better way, we would be able to stimulate the automotive industry, and housing... But we would rather give it to 3 or 4 people..
yep, just skip steps 1 and 2 and go straight to 3. Put the damn note and leave- at least that's how they do it in my neighborhood.!

FTA "The Grants couldn’t tell for certain when this started, but they were certain after four generations, when a drought struck the island, killing all but a single brother and sister. They mated with each other, and their children did the same."... and thus, the Arkansas Trailer Park Finch was born.?
"Let them eat cake" would have been directed at the lower classes, not the bourgeoisie. |

Yeah, the associated press has the right. It just goes to show you though, that even legitimate, well-established artists need to be careful. There is a fine line when using reference images in your image making process...(that they should be for your image, not IN your image).

I'm also instantly thinking MechWarrior 2 when I see MW2 and every time I keep hoping that MW2 is making some sort of comeback or re-release or something. They should really be calling it CoD:MW2 just to avoid confusion.MW2 is, and always will be, MechWarrior 2.Right now, I'm just waiting for the free release of MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries by mektek.net to get my C-Bill fix.

To all of you saying that price is determined by supply vs demand and is thus not applicable to digital media: You're not thinking this through. The price of any commodity is determined solely by how much people are willing to pay for it. Obviously scarcity value plays a massive role in the equation, but DeBeers can't charge $1,000,000,000,000 per diamond even though they do have a throttle on the market - because people simply won't pay it.Correspondingly, you *could* in theory make a profit by selling music at $0.05 per song, since you have practically zero distribution costs compared to selling physical CDs. But, since many people are willing to pay twenty times as much, these companies will charge twenty times as much and pocket the difference. There is such a thing as an optimal price point: more people buy Song X if it's cheaper, but you can conceivably make more money by boosting its price and getting fewer downloads - *if* the price increase is sufficient to offset the loss due to decreased sales. It's a ridiculously simple equation - we did this sort of stuff in 6th grade. The trick is finding that optimal balance, which is what the industry is doing right now. It might actually be in their best interests to jack up the price to the point where fewer people buy the song, but those who *do* buy it end up paying more. |
