Lets stop and remember something. On 9/11, these guys tried to destroy the values we hold dear as a nation. The simple fact is, that for all the horror, death and destruction on 9/11, it was a pinprick to the vastness of the United States in terms of real damange. The real effect of the attack is not the destruction caused, but how we, as a society, react to it. President Bush seemed to realise this immediately afterward - when he went before the joint session of Congress on 9/12 and made it clear the terrorists were out to destroy our values and our freedoms. But then he lost his way, because the next significant steps he took afterwards was to start warrantless wiretapping, set the stage for suspending habeus corpus, and discard a whole host of other constitutionally protected rights. He helped the terrorists succeed in their aims.On the other hand, when we take these people - some of the most evil people to ever walk the planet - and give them a real trial in a forum where the forum itself (military court) doesn't make guilt or innocence a nearly forgone conclusion, then we send the most effective message possible to ourselves and to the rest of the world that if we can take the worst of the worst and treat them this way, in accordance with our laws, our constitution, and our values, then those values have never been stronger and the terrorists, ultimately, failed on 9/11, That is why we should be doing exactly what Obama proposes.

oh cmon. Youre telling me you wouldnt give up the green trees of summer, the colors of fall, the snow of winter, rolling country hills, mountainous regions, lakes and oceans of Earth (while it lasts for 10 more years) for..... the grey landscape of the moon??
The biggest problem they're trying to overcome is it's tendency to go into "sleep mode" for about 18 hours a day.

In order to keep this insanity from happening is we need to ban exotic species as pets. Sorry weird animal lovers, but this is what happens. They sell piranha in local pet stores for chrissakes. They also sell other, very dangerous animals that could easily survive outside of captivity, decimating local ecosystems. It only takes a few morons to screw everything up, but you know what? ***** it. Our wildlife is too important not to protect from idiots.

The implosion of stock prices did that and that came about because the US had been living in a real estate bubble created over 3 administrations and the two major political parties.
