“sudo apt-get remove pulseaudioSolved multiple problems (that didn't exist in either 8.10 or 9.04, but only crept in with the 9.10 upgrade) on my server and mythbuntu frontend. Not just "no sound" problems, but applications hanging (firefox) and refusing to start (mythfrontend.real) type problems... You can only type "pkill pulse" so many times a day before it gets to you and you axe the damned thing forever...

You don't know the history of Disney well do you? It started out as a cartoonist sweatshop co-opting stories from European fairy tales. It gradually morphed into a generic and omnipresent kids brands. It actually got slightly less evil along the way. At no point was it a wonderful joyful company..

Yup, if you look at Adobe's Flash support page, for the current Flash Player 10.0 it mentions hardware acceleration support and that it would depend on the GPU used:http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/systemre ...However, previous it was a lot more limited to what is now available with the new Flash Player 10.1 beta. I don't think previous that Flash was using the GPUs' H.264 video decoder available modern GPUs, which it is now thanks to Adobe teaming up with companies like NVIDIA, AMD, Intel and Broadcom.

Ahh poo. Ran some vimeo in HD. Hackintoshes don't get to take advantage of it. Might be EFI Studio for me. Will try on my HTPC soon, it needs it. My quad core hackintosh is 25-27% HD flash running, 2% idle with Safari open. Yet flash does seem more responsive.
