She's a wonderfully talented photographer who works tirelessly behind the scenes to make beautiful images like this one available for use on Wikipedia and for any other project, and it's sad that submitters often do not acknowledge the people who make all of this possible, even when direct attribution is easy to do.Fellow diggers: Please give the volunteers over at Wikimedia Commons credit for their work. Full disclosure: I've donated, categorized, geotagged, and annotated more than a hundred of my own photographs and I have multiple thousands of page edits on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, so I know the amount of time, effort, and love that goes into this sort of thing. We license our work freely so that everyone can enjoy it, learn from it, build upon it, and distribute it however they wish; we really only ask in return that people not treat it as faceless, anonymous content, since we're real people who simply decided to make our efforts available to the world for the greater good rather than trying to monetize it.
