But that's not fair...you don't see what happened BEFORE the camera started rolling. You don't know the whole story!/sarcasm
"Neither of them would take a stand against giving home loans to poor people who can't afford home loans."And here's where you fail, because this was not the cause of the crisis. In fact, this is a GOP talking point.

“I completely agree. The problem is that unions tend to have noble beginnings, but eventually grow to become complex bureaucracies, heavily complicating the manufacturing process. UAW is a perfect example of high expectations and demands meeting the real world of union vs. non-union labor competition and outsourcing. Availability of cheap oil made shipping of goods across the globe possible at virtually no cost per-item. As long as oil remains cheap, the trade wars will continue and any worker willing to cross the union will be able to dismantle it and remove its bargaining power simply by offering to do the same job for less. Countries and governments will advertise their lack of regulation and willingness to break up unions in order to attract business. Decent treatment of a union employee without a job? What good is that? How about a competitive pension plan with no money in the bank? What unions do not realize is that sometimes bad business is better than no business. They're driving jobs out of the US. When the times are good they want their bear share of the profits. When times are tough, they go tough on concessions. They take their convictions to the grave. The more bureaucratic they are, the more inflexible and ill-adapted to change they become and eventually vanish with the tide.

Whether you pay someone in cash or with food, water and shelter, exploitation is exploitation. Taking advantage over the powerless and reducing them to cogs in a machine is wrong no matter how you look at it..

Since no one else seems to think so, I'll say I dugg it for the last line of Seven. Summed up the movie perfectly. And for the "they didn't include" crowd, I submit the last line of Office Space: "*****' ... A." (sorry, the version in my mind doesn't include the last scene with Milton on the beach)?

I haven't taken PC mag seriously since the days of the 486. That numb nuts John C. Dvorak has been wrong about almost every thing he has every predicted in tech trends and yet he still is one of their main writers.

Right now, Americans are good at theoretical and applied science, but America doesn't know what to do with it. America does develop new things, but they are manufactured in other countries, including China. The things that are invented in America aren't developed in America.
