| Good question, it's their squeaky clean mentality way of doing business to be honest. Just trying to deal with them, they treat you like crap. Typical nerd that now thinks they're trendy stuff. It's hard to explain, but you can't deal with musicians and labels like you do corporate clients, we don't operate that way, we're not your average office workers. That's why we got into the creative business in the first place. To be honest I stopped talking to them two years ago and we now use a Digital aggregator who deals with that stuff for us. Most digital stores, Beatport, Juno etc. etc. at least you can talk to them as music lovers and give them say a percentage deal for exclusive front page spreads etc. With Apple it was just ( if you ever got a reply from them ) you do it our way, or you don't do it at all.I mean with the LP thing, even if we had that kind of money to spend, why in hell would we want to deal with a corporate sourced graphic designer, what possible creative input from a street level would somebody like that have. I'm not really interested in your qualifications or where you went to school, I want to know you went out getting ***** up in the clubs, listening to the music, or hung with a bunch of skaters or artists or creatives and you're bringing that to the table Monday morning as inspiration, not how you dug the coffee at ***** starbucks on the way to work. Different mentality... completely, couldn't deal with it. |
