Not sure why LackyB is getting buried to oblivion. It sounds like the argument is "all those innovations are fine with me, but I'm a pure cheerleader for space exploration because it's exciting *****."I see nothing wrong with that point of view. Takes all types.
of course, you are speaking of the same government who gave us the Internet, which is undeniably the greatest propagator of freedom we have ever seen.

“right wing loonies band together like villagers with pitchforks. They don't burn down the castle, these ones feverishly digg a handful of skewed articles to get them briefly to the front page of digg, in a desperate bid to prove they are anything but a marginalized bunch of wackos.

I am a doctor and I recommend you should DIE!.
I guess you'd better bury most things that show up on Digg, then, since most of the websites that make the front page have ads and are trying to make money.!

Why does it matter whether there's hard evidence that things have happened already or not? Surely we can legislate to achieve or maintain a desirable state before it becomes a problem. That said, If it wasn't a problem that was happening already, the telcos wouldn't be complaining as loudly as they are.

Imperial Probe Droids are a blunt but effective tool. Think of the savings on per-unit deployment costs!

"We've had falling global temperatures in the last decade, not increases."A decade is an unbelievably short span of time subject to momentary influences. Just because I managed to pay off my creditors this month doesn't mean I'm not sinking deeper into debt over the course of the year due to a fundamentally unsustainable budget."People who think that we can control the weather patterns of this planet are truly delusional."I should think the people who believe we can release millions of years worth of buried greenhouses gases back into the atmosphere over the course of barely a century WITHOUT affecting the climate patterns of the planet would be the delusional ones." You people aren't interested in saving the planet at all, the planet will continue to be here long after we are gone. It has evolved over billions of years, and we are just a blip on the radar."What? I thought we were incapable of influencing the Earth! Isn't that what you just sad? I should of thought it went without saying that "save the planet" meant "save OUR ENVIRONMENT." I don't care about the planet in general. I care about the planet being hospitable for my grand-children. That is something we absolutely have control over. With 6 billion people in the world, our planet is a lot smaller than you think and getting smaller all the time. For that matter, we are the product of billions of years of evolutionary life existing on this planet. Life started forming here not long after the planet was formed. That's hardly just a "blip on the radar."What planet are you living on?http://global-warming.accuweather.com/http://www.theoildrum.com/uploads/12/global_temper ...http://reason.com/blog/2009/08/07/global-temperatu ... |
