“1) these people are actors - and therefore responsible the best "acting" in a creative endeavor (very different than gross profit)2) the creative side of the fence like actors/writers/directors need to think about making the best creative work they can3) producers / studios / funders can worry about the money aspects but if you are in it just for the money and not the art there are much better investments4) this article seems to be a recent trend where the news media reports to the general public on financial details of movies ( every week it seems) rather than whether a movie is good or bad - I find it a bad trend

Oh, wow - I never noticed the significance of the letters until now..
I fund the CBC and they have a editorial quality that puts the majority of US networks to shame. It doesn't matter what their ratings are they will continue to exist because Myself and people like me fight to have our tax dollars fund it.!

I question buying the next Microsoft console, with Live and this latest repair I've officially paid more for my Xbox than the 600 I paid for my PS3 on launch day.Just like elixirs usually give way to real medicine, I'm hoping that smart purchasing will ensure faults such as these quickly fade.?
What did Bush "target correctly"? Can you be specific? |

There's that story about how when John and Yoko wanted to have a kid, they got on a long cruise to China to kick heroin.

I completely agree. The problem is that unions tend to have noble beginnings, but eventually grow to become complex bureaucracies, heavily complicating the manufacturing process. UAW is a perfect example of high expectations and demands meeting the real world of union vs. non-union labor competition and outsourcing. Availability of cheap oil made shipping of goods across the globe possible at virtually no cost per-item. As long as oil remains cheap, the trade wars will continue and any worker willing to cross the union will be able to dismantle it and remove its bargaining power simply by offering to do the same job for less. Countries and governments will advertise their lack of regulation and willingness to break up unions in order to attract business. Decent treatment of a union employee without a job? What good is that? How about a competitive pension plan with no money in the bank? What unions do not realize is that sometimes bad business is better than no business. They're driving jobs out of the US. When the times are good they want their bear share of the profits. When times are tough, they go tough on concessions. They take their convictions to the grave. The more bureaucratic they are, the more inflexible and ill-adapted to change they become and eventually vanish with the tide.

A lot of people are for states rights when it comes to the things they like but suddenly anti-Federalist when it comes to states decide to allow things like medical marijuana, gay marriage, abortion, assisted suicide, or gun controls.Would you expect any different from the right? Their whole MO is to cherry pick what they like and sweep under the rug anything that contradicts their position or exposes their hypocrisy.Further to your point, I find it amazing that all the favorite hobgoblins of the anti-healthcare "movement" seem the be the very problems we are trying to fix with the current system. Rationed care, death panels, bureaucrats getting between you and your doctor...Aren't those all tactic that the insurance companies are abusing right now, just under a different euphemism?
